How Split Set Rock Bolts and Friction Bolts Work?
When a slotted anchor is installed in a hole smaller than the diameter of the pipe, three forces are exerted on the surrounding rock: radial pressure on the hole wall over the full length of the slotted anchor, friction to stop the surrounding rock from sliding down the hole, and the support force of the slotted anchor pallet. These three forces make the surrounding rock more stable.
