How to drill holes when installing rock bolt?
The drilling equipment drills holes according to the specified hole positions, diameters, lengths, and inclinations as per the design. The drilling rig uses an YT28 pneumatic leg-type air hammer, and the drill bit is a 38mm hexagonal alloy steel drill bit. When starting the hole, adjust the control handle valve of the rock drill to enable light impact operation, and adjust the pneumatic leg pressure regulator to maintain the pneumatic leg thrust in a low-thrust state. Once the hole pocket is formed, gradually transition the rock drill to medium-speed operation, then gradually increase the air leg's axial thrust. When the blast hole is drilled to approximately 100mm, transition the rock drill to full-speed operation and initiate water injection and flushing, adjusting the air leg's axial thrust to the optimal thrust level. First supply air and water to the drill, then begin drilling.
Drilling should be conducted following the principle of more rotation and less impact to prevent drill cuttings from blocking the water holes.
